Context
Deezer, a Paris-based music streaming service founded in 2007, offers over 73 million licensed tracks, 30,000+ radio channels, and thousands of podcasts. Available on Web, Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows, it serves 14 million monthly active users and 7 million paid subscribers (as of January 2019), with online and offline listening options.
I joined the company in 2019 at a pivotal moment, just as a rebranding was underway—an ideal time for a designer. The scope included a new logotype, typography, color palette, campaigns, web pages, microsites, app store screens, app interfaces, curated playlist covers, widgets, OOH campaigns, TV ads, Original Productions branding, and even merchandise and signage.
Metrics
Redesigned over 3,000 playlist covers within a unified design system, improving service clarity. Monitored and improved user engagement metrics following the redesign through analytics, user testing and social media feedback.
Played a key role in driving a 20% increase in Monthly Active Users (from 10M to 12M over two years) through strategic design initiatives, targeted marketing campaigns, and impactful event creation, contributing to sustained user engagement and growth.
