Context
In 2018 I set out to improve Apple Music’s desktop experience, tackling real-world UX challenges with multiple touchpoints and heavy architecture. Over four weeks of evening work, I analyzed pain points through personal use and user feedback. Common issues included an outdated layout, overwhelming recommendations, and limited personalization.
My process focused on harmonizing desktop and mobile, simplifying navigation, and introducing customization. I deliberately avoided referencing other streaming services or design trends, aiming for a fresh, user-centered approach. This case study documents my redesign process, key insights, and proposed solutions for a more intuitive Apple Music experience.
